With the continual advancement of automotive technology, it is not always possible to diagnose a fault by simply visually inspecting a vehicle and this is when diagnostic equipment is used. Once the diagnostic computer is plugged into a vehicle’s on-board computer it can read any “fault codes” that have been generated. With the help of further technology, the resulting “fault codes” are then interpreted by the Technician who can then take whatever remedial action is necessary to rectify the fault, be it electrical or mechanical.
